Ok, so in Edinburgh you have four months for Summer holidays. And that's only if you count exam-time as work as well - it's six months between your last lecture of one year and your first lecture of the next. So, some people get jobs, some people travel the world, and some...do absolutely nothing. Except create a blog and write some banal entries. Welcome.
